Godot Labor – Kol-Labor ’25

Satellite exhibition in the 400 sqm building of Godot Labor.

The exhibition presenting the most current works of Godot Institute artists opens for the sixth time on three levels (400 m²).

Charity: "I Help a Family"

A key part of this year's Expo is the "I Help a Family" initiative. The price of purchased paintings goes directly to a family living in deep poverty chosen by the buyer – not through foundations.

Our History (2016–2025)

Milestones of professional springboard and credibility

This section documents the development of the Godot Art Expo from the initial experimental phase to international recognition. The listed milestones justify the institutional stability and the success of the "Let's launch your art career together!" program.

2016–2017: Foundation
2016–2017 – Foundation: Organization of the first Pop-Up fairs in Klauzál Square Market Hall and Zsilip. The goal of the application-based selection is to help the most promising talents enter the professional market.

2018: Institutional Center (GICA)
The Godot Institute of Contemporary Art (GICA) opens in Óbuda, on the site of the Goldberger Factory. The 1100 m² industrial space and the support of MINI (BMW Group) give the fair a new scale.

2019–2021: Successes and the Catalyst Award
2019 – Young Generation Art Fair: The main professional prize is awarded to Kinga Azúr.
2020 – Crisis Management and Success: At the fair held during the pandemic, the first professional prize is shared by Abigail Wirth and Réka Barcza. This year sees the realization of Kinga Azúr's solo exhibition "Straight Labyrinth".
2021 – Catalyst Award: The Godot Catalyst Award is established to support artists over 35, with Andrea Fajgerné Dudás as the first winner.
2024–2025: Legitimation and Biennale
2024 – International legitimation: In the 10th anniversary year, the institute's exhibiting artist, Endre Koronczi, and curator, Luca Cserhalmi, win the right to exhibit at the Hungarian Pavilion of the 2026 Venice Biennale. Pneuma Cosmic details.

2025 – Strategic partnership: Cooperation with the Hungarian University of Fine Arts (MKE), under which students of the jumpSTART program integrate directly into the Expo selection.

Awards and Open Call

International Art Residencies and Professional Opportunities

International Art Residencies (3 locations)
France (Val d’Aigoual): 10-day creative work within the framework of the Lifeboat Scholarship. In 2025, Gergely Mindák (2024 Grand Prize winner) and Kristóf Szabó (KristofLab) realized their program here.

Morocco (Marrakech): Residency program at the Gauder Art House (Riad al Massarah), offering an opportunity to encounter North African culture. In 2025, Judit Ágnes Gallai participated in creative work here.

Netherlands (The Hague): Professional residency program in The Hague, focusing on networking with the Dutch art scene.
Domestic Opportunities and Application Conditions
Godot Mezőszemere Art Colony: Community creative week with full board and professional mentoring. Participants: Kinga-Noémi Ács, Attila Határ, Martin Kondor, Zsófia Kozma, Panni Sibitka, and Barnabás Szilágyi.

How can I purchase an artwork?
Choose the artwork and notify our staff. Payment is possible at the central cashier (Card, Bank Transfer). Artworks can be taken immediately.
Is the venue dog-friendly?
Yes, the entire area of the Institute is proudly dog-friendly. We welcome your well-socialized pet on a leash.
Are there guided tours?
Yes, during the Expo we hold curatorial guided tours. You can find information about these on-site and on our social media platforms.
Is there a café or cloakroom?
Yes, a café and a free cloakroom await visitors at the Institute during the Expo.
Opening hours?
Between October 8 and 19, 2025, we welcome visitors every day from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
